Fonds consists of two minute books which document his activities as judge of the Exchequer Court of Canada in 1909-1915. The minutes books provide information on people involved in the judicial process.

Cassels, Walter, Sir, 1845-1923 : Sir Walter Cassels was born in 1845 in Quebec City, Quebec. He studied at the University of Toronto (B.A. 1965) and was called to the bar of Quebec in 1872 (Q.C., 1883). He joined Blake, Larsh and Cassels during which period he acted as Counsel for the C.P.R. in the famous Onderdonk Arbitration and for the Province of Ontario. He was judge of the Exchequer Court of Canada from 1908-1923. He was created a Knight bachelor in 1917.
