Canadian Citizenship Federation : The Canadian Citizenship Federation, advocacy organization, was founded in 1968, to succeed the Canadian Citizenship Council which was dissolved in 1968. It was felt that there continued to be a need for a national body, which would bring to the attention of the Federal Government issues concerning citizenship such as revisions of the Immigration Act and the fostering of multiculturalism.

The educational functions of holding language and citizenship courses are carried on at the provincial level, by citizenship councils, which may be represented at the Canadian Citizenship Federation meetings, but which are independent bodies.

Matters which have concerned the Federation are the definition of Canadian citizenship, the difference between human rights and civil liberties, tourist travel in Canada and revisions to the Immigration Act. The Federation has also made representations to have the Canada Pension made payable at age 60, instead of 65 especially in the case of widows.
