Fonds consists primarily of historical information and stories concerning the van Iveren (van Every) family of the United States and Canada, 1636-1987. Also included are a few genealogical charts, photographs, maps and township plans.

Van Every, United States and Canada, 1636-1987 (family) : Myndert Fredericksen van Iveren (c.1636-1706) and Carsden Fredericksen van Iveren (c.1638-1688), sons of Frederick van Iveren, the lord of Everinghe Castle in the Netherlands, emigrated to the Dutch colony Beverwyck (now Albany), c.1653. They became successful businessmen (including the fur trade and the making of guns), and took an active part in community affairs. Myndert married Cathalyn Burger in 1656 and Pieterje van Vechten in 1663. His son, Frederick van Iveren (1657-1740) succeeded Myndert as Armourer to the Fort in 1703.

Myndert's great-grandson, McGregory van Iveren (Van Every) (1723-1786), was the progenitor of the Canadian branch of the family. He married an English girl, Mary Jaycocks (Wilcox) in 1750 in Arents, N.Y. McGregory and four of his five sons fought with Butler's Rangers during the American Revolution. After the war, they received land in the Niagara area and later in the Ancaster area of what is now Southwestern Ontario. Many of the early descendants of McGregory Van Every became involved with the military.
