The diary covers the period of 19 February 1912 to 3 June 1913, and is a personal description Grace Reid's life in Buchanan, Saskatchewan and Winnipeg, Manitoba. The majority of the diary entries concern her poor health, her experiences in Business College and her effort at finding a job in Winnipeg during the depressed economic conditions of 1913.
