French, (William) Percy, 1854-1920 : Irish singer songwriter

Born in Ireland, Percy French became a singer and songwriter fairly late in his career, beginning to write and perform in 1890. He moved to London, England, around 1900 and subsequently toured in Britain, Europe and North America, his shows including comic songs, ballads, skits and short stories. He was often accompanied by pianist Dr. Houston Collisson.
