D.A. Nichols, Bureau of Geography and Topography, film record of the RMS Nascopie's Eastern Arctic Patrol of 1937 as it left Montreal on July 10th and returned September 29th. Scenes include: the RMS Nascopie in Montreal; the Abraham Martin; Port Burwell at the northern tip of Labrador; ice; the boat Koksoak; locals and scenery; kayaks; Inoucdjouac, Quebec (formerly known as Port Harrison); Inuit at church; dogs; a young collared polar bear. At Churchill, RMS Nascopie is alongside the freighter Wentworth out of Liverpool. HMS Scarborough. Chesterfield Inlet, Nunavut (formerly NWT) and views at Cape Dorset and Kimmirut (formerly known as Lake Harbour) on Baffin Island. Via Clyde River and Pond Inlet to Craig Harbour on Ellesmere Island, ice. Lancaster Sound, Admiralty Inlet to the historic meeting with the ship Aklavik from the western Arctic. Boothia Inuit weir fishing, scenes around Brantford Bay near Fort Ross. Tent interior, Kennedy Inlet, Fort Ross on Beliot Strait. Dr. and Mrs. McKinnon of Pangnirtung, rough weather, icebergs. Scenes on deck, RMS Nascopie off loading and loading, Inuit and other northerners, dogs, RCMP constables changing posts, and Inuit special constables are also seen throughout the film. <30mn>

1. Actuality footage: 50 years from date of creation = copyright expired. ~2. D.A. Nichols brought along his camera to document the voyage. His film was later distributed by the National Museum of Canada as an unpublished lecture film.
