Byelorussian Institute of Arts & Sciences (Canada) : The Belarusian Institute for Arts and Sciences in Canada was founded in 1967 in Toronto. Founding members included Dr. Vincent ¿uk-Hry¿kievic, Dr. Raisa ¿uk-Hry¿kievic, Mr. Alies Hrycuk, Dr. Barys Ragula, Mrs. Ludmila Ragula and Dr. Jauchim Skurat. Initially the mission of the Institute was to promote a better understanding of the life of Canadians of Byelorussian origin and of their national heritage. Over time, the focus has shifted to focus on increasing, enhancing and disseminating scholarly and artistic knowledge about Belarus in Canada and abroad. The Institute supplies resources on Belarus and Belarusian topics for the Canadian media, government, and general public, and also serves as a liaison between Canadian and Belarusian academic circles and communities.
