Treasury 38 consists of 825 volumes of departmental accounts relating to a wide range of topics between 1558 and 1881. The National Archives of Canada has copied only volume 291, one of nine volumes relating to Quebec, which contains Receiver General's accounts. Included are an affidafit sworn in 1795 before the Lord Mayor of London by John Wigglesworth, an Inspector General in the Audit Office, in connection with the indebtedness to the Crown of Sir Thomas Mills, Receiver General of Quebec, 1765-1793, and William Grant, Deputy Receiver General of Quebec, 1777-1784; the accounts of Grant, 1777-1783; and the accounts of Mills, 1787-1789.
