Fonds consists of genealogical material concerning the MacIsaac MacDonald family of Glengarry County, Ontario, [ca. 1600-1972], collected and compiled by Leroy L. Guldan over a ten year period. The material includes coats of arms, tartans, maps, birth and death certificates, records of military service, ceremonies and land transactions, membership cards, booklets and newsletters, genealogical charts in horizontal storage, container 4, photographs, newspaper articles, correspondence, family histories and anecdotes.

The fonds also contains photographs of descendants of Ranald MacIsaac MacDonald, [ca. 1860-1970].

MacDonald, Ronald MacIsaac, Glengarry County (Ont.), 1754-1859 (family) : Ranald MacIsaac MacDonald (1754-1859) was born at Invernesshire, Scotland. He emigrated to Canada in 1837 with his wife Janet Cameron and six children. They settled, possibly, in the Raisin River region, Glengarry County, Ontario.

Ranald's second son, John (Jock) MacIsaac MacDonald (1800-1879) emigrated to Canada from Scotland, prior to his parents, in 1831 with his wife Margaret Macdonnell (1803-1868) and their children, John I. MacIsaac and Ann (Nancy) MacIsaac MacDonald. They settled in Glengarry County where Jock worked on the farm of D.A. McDonald near Williamstown, Ontario. In 1833, Jock purchased 200 acres, Lot 29, 2nd Concession, in Kenyon Township. Jock and Margaret had three more children in Canada: Donald MacIssac, James Edmund MacIsaac and Katherine.
