Especially noteworthy for Canada are certain papers which pertain to fur trading ventures to the North West Coast of America during 1785-1786. Included are correspondence regarding proposals for establishing a trade between the North West Coast of America, China and Japan, microfilm reels A-1478 to A-1479; a 'Narrative of a Voyage to the North West Coast of America', and 'Additions to Captain Cook's Vocabulary of the Nootka Sound Language in 1786', microfilm reel A-1480. Interestingly the "Narrative" offers descriptions of the land and natives who were encountered by James Strange's Expedition in 1786.Provenance:Additional information:General note:The Home Misc.
