Views of the factory of Connor Washing Machine Company; portraits of James Henry Connor and family. Three items were loaned to the Archives: Connor Washing Machine factory, 1887; James Henry Connor (1843-1933), inventor of the first washing machine, patented 1873; the family of James Henry Connor.. A variety of cabinet-sized portraits, taken mainly in Montreal, but also including Ottawa and British Columbia. Seventeen of the items are of McGill University students, 1893 and 1894. The photographs are of J.H. Connor, his family, and relations. Identified portraits include: Henry Stackhouse (Ottawa); Miss Stackhouse (Montreal); Boward BarnesHoward Barnes, William Arch. Duff, Herbert Larmount, Herbert Molson, Robert F. Gunn, Arthur A. Cole, O.E.S. Whiteside, W. Leach, W.P. Garrett, Frank J. Day, Frank H. Pitcher, C.H.B. Longworth, James S. Costigan, H.M. McKay, W.C. Adams, and A.L. Mudge (all McGill University students, of the classes of 1893 or 1893, in arts, science, or engineering); Anna McNaughton, mother of W.M. Connor; Charles Connor, son of J.H. Connor; Alex Brodie (Montreal)..
