Wilson, James, fl. 1809-1815 : Soldiers

James Wilson, Peter Fitzgerald, John William Gardiner (or Gardinier), Roswell Harris, Roswell Wilcox Felix Allen, Aaron Booth, John McDonald, Philip Fitzpatrick and Adam Hatchell were privates in the Canadian Fencible Regiment. In 1809 they were convicted at Quebec of desertion and for this felony were sentenced to seven years at the penal colony of New South Wales, Australia. In 1815, while awaiting passage from England to Australia, they were pardoned.
