War Office 24 consists of 893 volumes of warrants authorizing the establishments of regiments. The National Archives has acquired microfilm copies of the volume of the Royal Sign-Manual Warrants authorizing the half-pay establishments of certain British-American regiments for the years 1783 to 1789. Each warrant is followed by lists of officers from each regiment entitled to half-pay, with their rank and per-diem half-pay. The microfilmed originals are available on microfilm reel B-3332.
