Fonds consists of correspondence with members of his family, and with Sir George Foster, Mohamed Yaqub, R. Grigg, and Professor Caldwell, 1901-1929, 2.5 cm; memoranda and notes regarding South Africa and India, n.d., 1910, 1929-1930, 2.5 cm; personal diaries regarding his activities as Trade Commissioner in South Africa and Argentina, 1909-1914, 5 cm. Three-hundred two photographs, 1906-1942, depict views of South Africa and Argentina; portraits of H.R. Poussette, his family and friends. Seventy-seven photographs, ca. 1912, depict views of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, including the Carnival.

Poussette, Henry Rivington, b. 1872 : Henry Rivington Poussette, trade commissioner, was born in 1872 at Moortown, Ontario, studied at Upper Canada College and the Royal Military College and served in the Boer War. He held a number of appointments as Canadian Trade Commissioner serving in South Africa, 1909-1911, and Argentina, 1911-1913.
