The collection, 1735-1754, relates to the settlement of the boundaries of Massachusetts Bay with New Hampshire and Connecticut. It includes original material and copies of relevant documents dating back to 1636: petitions, orders-in-council, official reports, land grants, maps, plans, survey reports, affidavits, charters, correspondence, acts, resolutions and minutes of colonial assemblies, draft cases and legal opinions. Transcripts, 243 pages.

General note:

New England, named by Captain John Smith on his map of 1616, is the northeastern region of the United States of America, which was settled by the British in the first half of the seventeenth century. It embraces the modern states of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.

Custodial history:

Additional Manuscript 15487 is a collection of papers relating to the settlement of the boundaries of the New England colonies which the British Library added to its collection in 1845. It was transcribed by the National Archives of Canada at some time prior to 1908.
