Fonds consists of correspondence, commissions and papers of Robert Spence, and of his daughter Mrs. E.M. Pearson. The latter correspondence refers to the Spence family burial plot. Also included are genealogical notes and photos concerning the Spence family and the descendents of James Cook and Elizabeth Davis, 1803-1915.

The fonds also includes a certificate bestowing the title of Freemason on Robert Spence, Grand Lodge, Hamilton, July 28, 1859. Item is in horizontal storage, container 2.
