Fonds consists of photographic material depicting churches, residences, and public buildings, mainly examples of Scottish architectural style in Ontario and Quebec. The following geographical locations are documented: Vancouver, Victoria, British Columbia; Mendota, Minneapolis, Minnesota; Menlo Park, New Jersey; Pictou, Nova Scotia; Alexandria, Appleton, Bath, Belfountain, Brockville, Cobourg, Fergus, Galt, Goderich, Grafton, Guelph, Kingston, Maitland, Merrickville, Peterborough, Richmond Hill, Rockwood, Snelgrove, Toronto, Trenton, Whitby, and York Mills, Ontario; Caughnawaga, Ile d'Orleans, Montréal, Québec City; Ste. Adele, and St. Vincent de Paul, Québec; Aberdeen, Ballater, and Kilmarnock, Scotland; Midway, Utah.

Fonds also consists of postcards of Canadian views; album of prints, photos, and manuscript material documenting works of art by Anson B. Cutts; newspaper clippings and 4 pages of manuscript material.

Fonds consists of textual records: architecture and art related material pertaining to Cutt's study of Ontario architecture, and Canadian art, and to his article "The Old Scottish Architecture of Ontario", in the Canadian Geographical Journal, 1949, ca. 1884, 1936-1969; W. and J. Bell, Perth, Upper Canada 1937, manuscript of a history by Archibald M. Campbell; Charles G.D. Roberts' Selected Poems with holograph poem "As Down the Woodland Ways" and two letters from Roberts to Cutts relating to Morley Callaghan's Now that April's Here Robert's Selected Poems, and a proposed new volume.

Biography/Administrative history:

Cutts, Anson Bailey : Anson Bailey Cutts was educated at Cambridge and Yale before becoming the executive secretary of the Association of Canadian Bookmen 1935-1938, and editor of its Reading Guide Quarterly. Cutts served in the United States Army during W.W.II but returned to Canada ca. 1946 to pursue his studies of Canadian architecture at the University of Toronto. He returned to the United States in the late 1940's and spent most of the rest of his life in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
