Item is an extract of a book entitled "A Journey to America in 1834" by Robert Heywood, printed privately in 1919. During his journey Heywood spent most of his time in the United States but did travel to Niagara Falls and then by steamer to Toronto, Port Hope, Cobourg, Kingston, Brockville, Prescott, Cornwall, Montreal, Three Rivers and Quebec, all in July of 1834. The book also mentions the cholera epidemic, raging at that time.
