Item is a microfilmed report to Viscount Melgund, Military Secretary, on a Government Gun Factory at Quebec by Captain Edward Palliser, late 7th Hussars, October 1884. This report by Captain Edward Palliser details tests made to select breech-loading guns for manufacture in Canada. Including discussion and test results of steel manufacture and forging; plans and photographs of 12 and 22 pound field guns, and 5 and 6 inch fortification guns, with their respective carriages and mounts; and a plan of the site for the proposed works at Quebec. This material is located on microfilm reel A-1633.
