Fonds consists of selections from the records of the Continental Congress, consisting principally of representations, memorials, and claims for supplies, services, and other forms of assistance furnished by Canadians to the Continental forces. Included are complaints of non-payment by American commissariat for goods purchased from merchants and for care of the sick; claims for losses and sufferings sustained by refugees from Quebec and Nova Scotia; and petitions for arrears of pay of Canadian volunteers serving with the Continental Army. Of particular note are the petitions from sundry residents of Nova Scotia in favor of that province joining the rebellious colonies, and papers relating to a proposed expedition against Canada in 1778.

United States. Continental Congress : The Continental Congress was the body of delegates of the American colonies first assembled in September 1774, and again in May 1775, as an advisory council of the colonies. It eventually became the central government of the union serving as such until in was dispersed on 4 March 1789, and replaced by the new government under the Constitution.
