Fonds consists of letters from Lieutenant James Walter Fairholme, R.N. to his sister Elizabeth Marjory Murray, and a notebook kept by Mrs. Murray entitled "Letters and Journals, William Fairholme, George Fairholme, James Fairholme". In this volume Mrs. Murray entered extracts from letters, journals and sketches written between 1834 and 1845 by her three brothers, and also her own account of the fate of the Franklin expedition on which Lieutenant James Fairholme perished in 1845. Also included are newspaper clippings on the subject dating to 1936. This material is located on microfilm reel A-393.
