Fonds consists of letters of John MacAulay dated 2 November 1972 and 10 September 1975 describing his work with the International Red Cross and his part in restituting the Polish Art Treasures, and a letter of 23 June 1962 to MacAulay from Dr. I. Domanska awarding him the Commander's Cross of the order of Polonia Restituta.

MacAulay, John Alexander, b. 1895 : John Alexander MacAulay, born in 1895 at Morden, Man., studied the arts and law at the University of Manitoba. He served with the army medical corps from 1916 to 1918 during World War I. In 1919, he was called to the Bar of Manitoba. He was made a King's Counsel in 1931. He was President of the Canadian Bar Association from 1953-54. Mr. MacAulay was very active in the Red Cross serving as President of the Canadian Red Cross from 1950-51 and as Chairman of the Board of Governors of the League of Red Cross Societies, Geneva, Switzerland, from 1959 to 1965.
