Profiled are such people as: Mrs. Emily McDougall, the valley’s wind watcher; Allan MacArthur, age 85, a farmer and piper; and Alf Gale, a farmer whose family was among the first settlers in the valley. Mrs. McDougall is paid $20 a month to report the conditions in the valley to the Canadian National Railway. Based on her report, the railway determines if it is safe to send the train through the valley, where winds often reach 120 miles per hour and where on two past occasions a train has been blown off the track. The film shows the life and work of the Codroy Valley residents, including scenes of a Milling Frolic. <30mn>Language:English -
