The microfilmed item consists of a volume of some sixty original and contemporary copies of cédulas reales (royal decrees) from the King of Spain addressed to the Viceroy of Peru and officers of the Audiencias at Lima, Santiago and Quito, presumably assembled as a reference volume by an official who has served in the courts in those cities. A few documents addressed to officers of other jurisdictions appear to have been included for reference purposes on general policy questions. This material is located on microfilm reel K-170.
