MacRae, John Chester, b. 1912 : John Chester MacRae, born in 1912 at Hopetown, Que., received his education from the New Brunswick Teachers' College. He served in the Canadian Army and Militia from 1934-1956, and retired with the rank of Major.

He was a Member of Parliament representing York-Sunbury, N.B., 1957-1972. He was a delegate to the Tenth Annual Conference at the N.A.T.O. Parliamentarians Association, Washington, in 1959, a Parliamentary Observer to the 15th General Assembly, United Nations, 1960, and a delegate to the 50th Conference, Interparliamentary Union, Brussels in 1961.
