Collection consists of the papers of several persons: John Plaw papers including four deeds, April 1794 - Oct. 1809, and a letter of John Plaw in P.E.I. discussing business with an overscas correspondent, dated June 1809; John Speed papers including an appointment of William Abbot as J.P. for Halifax, N.S., 1781; leaflet dropped by Germans on Southampton concerning the Dieppe Raid, dated 1942; loyal address from Southampton concerning the capture of Louisbourg, dated 1758; Smythe papers including letters, 1799-1819 and of Rev. Smyth which include sermon dedicated to the Duchess of Kent, 1799-1820, letters, 1814-1822 and papers, 1799-1823, of Major-General Stacey Smyth; Eyre John Crabbe papers including letters and papers of Eyre Crabbe from Barbados and Canada, 1824, 1840-1845, 1852.
