McCord, David Ross, 1844-1930 : David Ross McCord, born in Montreal, was educated at McGill University. He was called to the bar in 1868 and made a Q.C. in 1895, practising in Montreal. His valuable collection of material relating to Canadian history was presented to McGill University in 1919 and formed the Nucleus of the McCord National Museum which opened in 1921.
