Boswell, Arthur Radcliffe, 1838-1925 : Arthur Radcliffe Boswell, born in Cobourg, Ont. was educated at Upper Canada College. He became a barrister, 1865, and a K.C., 1889. He became mayor of Toronto in 1883. He served as a trustee of the Toronto General Hospital, chairman of the Toronto Public Library, and director of Crown Life Insurance. He was appointed Inspector of Insurance, and registrar of friendly societies and loan companies. See: Morgan, Canadian Men and Women of the Time, 1912, p. 122.
