Item is a letter to Rose Carlofsky from Abraham Moses Klein which comments on a poem submitted to him for appraisal, dated 22 December 1928. Klein attached typescripts of six poems which he composed.

Carlofsky, Rose, 1908-1970 : Rose Carlofsky was a Canadian writer who lived from 1908 to April 29, 1970.

She was educated at Queen's University and St. Patrick's University. Between 1928 and 1929 she corresponded and exchanged poems with noted poet A.M. Klein. Throughout her career, she wrote poetry, short stories, and eventually a full length novel, But in Ourselves. Although several of her short stories were read on CBC radio programs, none of her stories or poems were ever published.
