Parkin with one reply from Amery, relating to Amery's literary activities, the South African War, Winston Churchill, Imperial Federation, the federal election of 1900, and imperial defence, photocopies, 1900-1919, 0.7 cm; and an illustrated brochure commemorating Amery's state visit to South Australia while secretary of state in October of 1927, original, 1927, 0.6 cm.

Amery,L. S. (Leopold Charles Maurice Stennett), 1873-1955 : Leopold Charles Maurice Stennett Amery, educated at Oxford University was on the editorial staff of The Times, 1899-1909, prior to his political career. He entered the United Kingdom House of Commons in 1911 as a Unionist and strong advocate of imperial preference and tariff reform, and served as under-secretary for the colonies, 1919-1921, parliamentary and financial secretary to the admiralty, 1921-1922, first lord of the admiralty, 1922-1924, secretary of state for the colonies, 1924-1929, and secretary of state for Dominion affairs, 1925-1929. He sat in the House from 1911 until 1945.
