Collection consists of photographs depicting a party of men and women in canoe, attending a regatta or boating event, n.d.; construction of Temiskaming and Northern Ontario Railway, Canadian prisoners of war in Germany during World War One, and views of the Chaudiére Rapids, Hull, and Val Tetreau, Que., 1903-1938.

Latchford, F. R. (Francis Robert), 1854-1938 : Honourable Francis Robert Latchford, B.A., K.C., was born it Ottawa County, Qué, 30 April 1856 to James Latchford and Mary Young. He was educated at Aylmer Separate School and Ottawa University, graduating with honours in 1882. He received the Governor General's Medal for best English essay, the Archbishop's medal for an essay on Christian doctrine, and the Pope's medal for best Latin essay on a philosophical subject. He was called to the bar in 1886. In 1890 he married Frances Agnes O'Brien with whom he had six children. Latchford was solicitor for the Separate School Board of Ottawa, the C.M.B. of Canada, the Railway Trackmen, and other bodies. He served on the Law Faculty of Ottawa University in 1895; was president of St. Patrick's Asylum of Ottawa for eight years; president of the Reform Club of Ottawa; and vice-president of the Reform Association. On 21 October 1899 he was appointed to the position of Minister of Public Works in the Ross Ministry, and elected to the Ontario Legislature for South Renfrew 14 November 1899. Re-elected at the general election of 1902, he was unsuccessful in re-election in the general assembly of 1905. In 1908 he was appointed to the High Court of Justice for Ontario.
