Fonds consists of speeches and clippings relating to Woodward's service with the Wartime Information Board, 1944-1945; articles on the development of Western Canada and Saskatoon, 1949; a personal tribute made on the occasion of his 80th birthday; a recommendation for the Distinguished Service Order for service in 1916; and a book review.

Woodward, Julius Sterling, b. 1881 : Julius Sterling Woodward, born in England, came to Canada in 1903. He wrote for newspapers in Saskatoon and Prince Albert, 1907-1914, and was a staff writer with the Winnipeg Free Press, 1921-1928. He was editor of the Saskatoon Star-Phoenix, 1928-1946. He fought in W.W.I, and in W.W.II and he made a speaking tour of Great Britain for the Wartime Information Board. Active in the Saskatoon Board of Trade and the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce, he also was an enthusiastic member of the Hudson Bay Route Association and the Yellowhead Route Association. Since his retirement in 1946, he has maintained his connections with community service organizations.
