Fonds consists of prints: broadsheets entitled "The Original and Genuine Works of William Hogarth"; one visiting card of Edmund Kean bearing "Mr. Kean" on one side and his Indian name "Alanienouidet" and portrait in Indian robes on the other; 11 greeting cards of various animal, landscape and architectural scenes, a bookplate for Margaret Van Every, and a view of Thornhill.

Also included is a caricature of a male figure entitled "Yours in Caricature" by Wallace B. MacDonald.

The fonds also contains one informal portrait of Canadian artist Robert Holmes, R.C.A.

Textual material consists of William Hogarth correspondence; William Colgate correspondence and related material; Thoreau MacDonald correspondence; other material collected by Hogarth.

Hogarth, William Arthur, 1902-1972 : William Hogarth, businessman and patron of the arts, was born in Hamilton, and raised and educated in Toronto. He pursued a business career in Toronto and an interest in the arts. He collected the works of Canadian artists, and was a member of the Arts and Letters Club, Toronto.
