The fonds consists of records of the Township of Fitzroy. The fonds contains textual records as well as 20 plans and maps related to planning and development in the township, including the reconstruction of long distance telephone lines by Bell Canada, and the development of the Chats Falls hydroelectric facility.

General note:

The records of the Council of the Township of Fitzroy were accumulated by successive Clerks and Treasurers. They were received in 1980 from the estate of Archibald Riddell, through the courtesy of his niece (Mrs.) Edna Woods of Ottawa, Ont.

Custodial history:

De-accessioned 1 October 2012 to the City of Ottawa Archives. (LAC still holds microfilm reel H-1809, because it contains records from other fonds).
