Fonds consists of correspondence, n.d., 1882, 1893, consisting of letters to Thomas Patrick Gorman from Wilfrid Laurier, Edward Blake, L.H. Davies of Davies and Haszard, Charlottetown; F. Langelier of Montambault, Langelier, Langelier and Taschereau, Québec; W.W. Sullivan and A.P. McEachern. The L.H. Davies' letter dated 5 October 1893 describes a series of Liberal Party meetings in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia ridings in preparation for the coming election. There is also, a House of Commons Press Gallery Reading Room card, 1892, and Memorial card, 1894.

Gorman, Thomas Patrick Sr., 1856-1894 : Thomas Patrick Gorman, born in Prince Edward Island in 1856, was one of the most active Liberal editorial writers in the Canadian newspaper world between 1880 and 1894. His career began with the Charlottetown Era as a printer, later as editor of the Summerside Progress, and in 1880, he joined the editorial staff of the Montreal Herald. In 1882, Gorman represented the Herald in the House of Commons Press Gallery.

In 1883, he moved to Ottawa as resident correspondent with the Globe of Toronto. In 1887, Gorman succeeded John T. Hawke as Editor of the Free Press of Ottawa, where he remained until his death in 1894. T.P. Gorman acted as Ottawa correspondent for a number of Canadian daily newspapers, and was elected President of the Parliamentary Press Gallery, ca. 1892. He was married to Mary McDonald, a niece of Judge Reddin of Prince Edward Island.
