Fonds consists of correspondence including letters from Gen. A.G.L. McNaughton; certificates, orders, and memoranda; miscellaneous cards, medical charts, genealogical notes, and clippings; Field Message Book taken from Richardson's map case carried when he was wounded, dated 1917.

Fonds also consits of Photographs depicting views of battlefields, France, from the air, 1917-1918; No. 1 (Duchess of Westminster's) Red Cross Hospital, Le Touquet, France, 1918; survivors of the War of 1812, Toronto, Ontario, 1959; portraits of Bruce Harder Richardson; Lieutenants Alan S. and Bruce H. Biography/Administrative history:

Richardson, Bruce Harder, 1891-1971 : Captain B.H. Richardson, military officer, was born and educated in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He went overseas in 1916 and served 10 months in France as an artillery officer. He was wounded near Vimy Ridge and lost his right leg. Following his return to Canada, Richardson acted as adjutant to the District Depot, Military District No. 2, and handled the demobilization of troops returning via Toronto. He was also involved in arrangements for the visit of the Prince of Wales in 1919, and with Red Cross fund raising in the United States.

He retired from the reserve of officers in 1936. He was involved in the real estate and book binding businesses 1910-1926, was employed with Canada Life Insurance Co., 1927-1942, and subsequently was general manager of Pelissiers Brewery Ltd.
