Photographs, ca. 1920-1950, depict activities of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and of the British Broadcasting Corporation; portraits of Stanley Baldwin and of Lorne Greene.

Murray, William Ewart Gladstone, 1892-1970 : William Ewart Gladstone Murray, public servant, publicist, born in Maple Ridge, B.C., was educated at McGill and Oxford universities. He served with the Highland Light Infantry and the Royal Flying Corps during W.W.I. Following the war he worked as a reporter and publicist in Canada and Great Britain. He held various positions with the British Broadcasting Corporation, 1923-1936, and served as the first general manager of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, 1936-1942. After 1942 he published, spoke on the subject of free enterprise, and founded his own firm in Toronto.
