Fonds consists of three microfilmed scrapbooks containing photographs and clippings which illustrate some of Lord Stanley's activities while Governor General of Canada, including tours to the West Coast, Northern Ontario, and the Maritime provinces, recreational and cultural activities patronized by the vice regal party, and visits of important guests, such as H.R.H. Prince George in 1890. The photos include good views of British warships on the East and West Coast Stations. This material is located on microfilm reel A-842.

Gathorne-Hardy, Lady Isobel, 1875-1963 : Isobel Constance Mary Stanley was the daughter of Lord Stanley of Preston, Govenor General of Canada, 1888-93. In 1898 she married the Honourable Sir John Francis Gathorne-Hardy (1874-1949), a brother of the 3rd Earl of Cranbrook.

While in Canada with her father, Lady Isobel collected a number of newspaper clippings and photographs which illustrated some of Lord Stanley's activities while Governor-General.
