Bellini, Luigi : Luigi Bellini born at S. Andrea di Conza in the province of Irpinia, studied art in Milan under Luigi Brignoli, a master at the Bergamo Academy of Art. Arriving in Canada in 1957, Mr. Bellini first settled in Saint John, N.B., and then moved to Toronto where he became known as a "sidewalk artist" who drew his inspiration from the people he painted in the street scenes. He has held many personal exhitibions in Italy, but is best known in Canada for the painting of several portraits of prominent Torontonians, including one of former Mayor Nathan Phillips, which now hangs in the City Hall.
