Waite, Peter Busby, 1922- : Peter Busby Waite, born in 1922 at Toronto, Ont., received his education from the University of British Columbia, B.A. 1948, M.A. 1950, and the University of Toronto, Ph.D. 1954. He has been a Professor of History, Dalhousie University since 1961 and was Head of the Department until 1968. In 1985, he was appointed a McCulloch Professor.

He has written many books and articles on the Confederation era in Canadian history. Among his works are, The Life and Times of Confederation 1864-1867, 1962, and Macdonald: His Life and World, 1975.
