McGarry, James Henry, 1871-1948 : Dr. James Henry McGarry, born in 1871, was the son of Dr. James McGarry who had graduated from McGill University in 1850 and who had set up a practice in Niagara Falls in the same year. Dr. James Henry McGarry attended the University of Toronto and received his M.B. from that institution in 1893. The following year he was awarded an M.D. and C.M. from Trinity University and appeared on the Medical Register for the first time.

Dr. McGarry was in general practice in Niagara Falls for his entire working life. He was joined in the practice by his son Dr. John Martin McGarry in 1924. John Martin McGarry had graduated from the University of Toronto with an M.B. in 1921 and became a surgeon. The name of the practice was changed to the McGarry Clinic in 1929 when the two were joined by another son, James R. McGarry who had graduated in 1922 and who was certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Two other sons, Howard H. McGarry and George McGarry joined the practice in 1935 and 1936 respectively.

Of those involved in the practice, Dr. James Henry McGarry died in 1948, survived by James Richard McGarry and Howard Henry McGarry. John Martin McGarry died in 1965 and George Coulson McGarry died in 1979.
