Morrison, Dick, 1936- : C.A. "Dick" Morrison was born in 1936 in Las Palmas, Canary Islands, then a colony of Spain. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in February 1959 and remained in the service until October 1980. He first trained as a radio navigator and in 1967 became a pilot.

In the early morning of 24 January 1978 the remains of the nuclear powered Soviet satellite Cosmos 954 re-entered the earth's atmosphere over Northern Canada. Because of the potential radiation hazard, the Government of Canada mounted a major search and clean up operation known as Operation Morning Light. Mr. Morrison was a Chinook helicopter pilot during the operation.
