Coleman describing towns in Siberia, Manchuria, and European Russia in 1910. Photographic material consists of Christmas card photographs from various individuals.Provenance:Biography/Administrative history:Coleman, Ephriam Herbert, 1890-1961 : Ephriam Hebert Coleman, public servant, ambassador, lawyer, was born in 1890 in Renfrew County, Ont. He received his LL.B. from the University of Manitoba in 1922, was called to the Bar of Manitoba in 1922, and practised law in Winnipeg for several years. He was Secretary-Treasurer of the Canadian Bar Association, 1919-1933, and Honorary Executive Secretary, 1934-1949. From 1929 until 1933, he was Dean of the Manitoba Law School.
Ephriam Coleman was Under-Secretary of State and Deputy Registrar General of Canada, 1933-1948. In 1949, he was appointed Canadian Minister to Cuba. He was Ambassador to Cuba, 1950-1951. Between 1951 an 1953, he served as Ambassador to Brazil. He retired in 1954.
