Fonds consists of law school lecture notes on the subject of real property, prepared by A.H. Murphy in 1914, during his first year of law studies at Osgoode Hall. It is believed that A.H. Murphy was Albert Hanley Murphy of London, Ont.

Murphy, Albert Hanley, b. 1893 : Albert Hanley Murphy graduated from the University of Toronto in 1914, studied law at Osgoode Hall, Toronto and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1919. His chief professional interest was corporate law and he became head of the law firm of Murphy, Lebell and Dundin, London, Ont.

He served in World War I as commanding officer of the 14th Battalion, Royal Montreal Regiment and later attained the rank of major.

He was the director of numerous companies and served in London, Ont., as chairman of the Court of Revision, chairman of the Separate School Board, member of the advisory board of St. Joseph's Hospital as well as, in other municipal capacities.

Received early in the twentieth century, from Sir Leicester Harmsworth, the fonds was in the custody of the National Library until 1982.
