Gibbons, George Christie, 1848-1918 : George Christie Gibbons, lawyer and public servant, was born in 1848 at St. Catharines, U.C., and was educated at Upper Canada College. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1969, practised law in London, Ont., and was appointed Q.C. in 1891. He was chairman of the Canadian Section of the International Waterways Commission from 1905-1911.
