Fonds consists of the papers relating to Daniel L. Dolan's work with the Canadian Government Travel Bureau, including biographical information, 1949, 1956; correspondence with ministers, 1934-1939; speeches, n.d., 1934, 1945-1957; newspaper clippings, 1935-1965; and books and pamphlets, n.d., 1948-1962.

The fonds also contains photographs depicting events and ceremonies connected with Dolan's career, ca. 1934-1958.

Dolan, D. Leo, 1895-1966 : Daniel Leo Dolan, public servant, was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick. He began his career as a reporter for various newspapers. He served as Director of the Canadian Government Travel Bureau from its establishment in 1934 until 1957 when he was appointed Canadian Consul General, Los Angeles. During his directorship of the Bureau, he became recognized as an authority on the tourist industry in North America.
