This material is located on microfilm reel M-826.Provenance:Additional name(s):Biography/Administrative history:Bowman, Charles Arthur, born 1883 : Charles Arthur Bowman came to Canada from his native Northumberland as a young man, and worked as a draftsman and engineer for the Department of Railways and Canals, until his dismissal in 1912. In 1913, he joined the Ottawa Citizen as associate editor and became editor shortly after, retiring in 1946. He was an active advocate of public broadcasting and served as a member of the Royal Commission on Radio Broadcasting in 1929, along with Sir John Aird and Dr. Augustin Frigon.
