Morrison, Jean Hunter, 1915-1973 : Jean Hunter Morrison was born in 1915 at Huntingdon, Que. She was educated at McGill University, receiving a M.A. degree in Sociology in 1938. In 1940, she married Neil Morrison. Throughout most of her life, Jean Hunter Morrison was a professional researcher and free-lance writer for CBC, specializing in consumer, family, and education affairs. Her CBC writing career culminated in the 1967 series, "The New Africans", the result of two years research and two trips to Africa by Morrison and a CBC crew.

In addition, Jean Morrison was professionally and personally involved in a number of other public organizations, including the Canadian Mental Health Association, Canadian Association for Adult Education, Canadian Conference of the Family, Centennial International Development Project, World University Service, Canadian Institute of International Affairs, A.C.T.R.A. and Canada Council.
