Cooper concerning the historical accuracy of Kirby's novel, The Golden Dog.Provenance:Biography/Administrative history:Cooper, John Alexander, 1868-1956 : John Alexander Cooper, journalist, was born at Clinton, Ont. and educated at the University of Toronto. He was the editor of the Canadian Magazine, 1895-1906 and the Canadian Courier, 1906, 1920. After World War I, Colonel Cooper was president of a motion picture distributing firm in Toronto and vice-president of an advertising agency. He was a past president of the Canadian Press Association and a member of the Canadian Society of Authors. The author of numerous articles, Cooper also edited Men of Canada, 1901-1902, and wrote Canada Under Victoria, 1901.
