Fonds consists of a typescript copy (3 pages) of a letter, 1937, from J.W. Dafoe concerning the establishment of the Rowell-Sirois Commission, the anticipated Ontario election, October 1937, and Clifford Sifton's support of Mitchell Hepburn. It also deals with the Question of federal intervention to disallow the Act, to ensure the Publication of Accurate News and Information, 1937, commonly called the "Muzzle-the-Press Bill" of Premier Aberhart of Alberta.

Ferguson, George Victor, 1897-1977 : George Victor Ferguson born in 1897 at Cupar, Fife, Scotland, and received his education from the University of Alberta, and Oxford University, as a Rhodes Scholar. Beginning his career with the Winnipeg Free Press as a reporter in 1925, George V. Ferguson became its Managing Editor, 1933-1944, and Executive Director, 1944-1946. Following this, he was Editor-in-Chief of the Montreal Star and in 1968, became Editor Emeritus of the Star. He died in 1977 at Montreal, Quebec.
